Getting bored sitting around the house, Sven decided that he needed a bit more adventure.
He also decided to try a new hobby whilst on his recent holiday in Cornwall.
So here are Sven's snaps from Cornwall, including photographic proof that an Ostrich really can fly.
Devon and Cornwall are dotted with many marks left by the people who have lived in the south of England. One of the oldest is Trethevy Quoit Near the village of St. Cleer.
Sven thought the Quoit, known locally as The Giants House, was very impressive. The stone along the top, known as the capstone, is almost 4 m long, and at it's highest point it is almost 5m off the ground.
Another more recent sign of human endeavor are the many abandoned tin mines which can be found in much of Cornwall. The ruined buildings and rusted equipment is all that now remains of a once thriving industry.
The building Sven is looking at here once housed a mighty pump which was used to remove water from the mine workings.
This mine is located on the hills near the town of Bodmin. This area is known as South Cardon. As well as the pump house, the entry to one of the mine workings can still be seen, along with three large chimneys. If you are visiting these places you should be careful as although the mines have all been filled in, there are still some quite large holes to fall down. Sven found this out the hard way.
Now that the mines have all closed, Tourism has become a vital part of the Cornish economy. One of the most famous, and most impressive, attractions is the stunning 'Eden Project'. This amazing feat of engineering includes two of the biggest greenhouses in the world, each so large that huge trees can fit easily inside them.
The site of the Eden Project is a disused quarry. This is a good example of the industrial relics of the past being developed to provide places for people to visit.
The only problem is getting there. Sven arrived quite early, before the doors were even open but there was already a long line of people waiting to get in.
Although he had never heard much about Cornwall, Sven was very impressed by what he found. There are loads of interesting places to visit and things to see. In the Summer lots of people visit for the nice safe beaches for surfing and sailing. Sven also recommend the hang-gliding. The wide windy beaches make for perfect kite flying.
