The Pharaoh Siptah gained the throne by marrying Queen
Twosret but died after a reign of about 6 years. His mummy was
found in the royal cache in the tomb of Amenhotep II.
Siptah's sole reign may have been virtually non existent as there
is evidence that his stepmother Twosret had effective control
during this time. Indeed after Siptah's death Twosret assumed
full Pharaohnic title.
