Very little information remains today concerning Menuhotep II.
His most enduring monument is his unusual terraced funerary complex
at Deir el-Bahri.
During his reign successful campaigns were launched against several
Egypt's neighbors and re-established partial control over Nubia.
Menuhotep II is best remembered for his reunification of Egypt
by overthrowing the Herakleopolitan 10th Dynasty who were rivals
to the earlier 11th Dynasty kings.
